Suppressed documentary on the brutal, I mean *really* brutal, competition between branches at Morgan Stanley. Sort of reminds me of a movie I saw.

Investment News has discovered a documentary produced by Morgan Stanley chronicling the harsh competition between branches that is encouraged by their home office. Some news reports suggest this is a parody, but I don’t think so.

Margin Games:

Manager on Fire

Some of my favorite scenes:

Before the reaping, Katniss’ office buddy gives her a pin for good luck. It is a Bitcoin logo. Because it’s magical, you see.

Strategy planning between Katniss and Peeta before the game:

Katniss: “I promise, if it’s only you and I at the end, I will make it as quick and painless as possible.”

Peeta: “No, that’s not what I meant. I mean we do something drastic, like we both eat a poison berry and die at the same time.”

Katniss: “That’s sweet…but that’s silly. They can’t spare me. They’ll have someone else at your desk by Monday.”

Katniss gets a bow, quiver of arrows, and stapler at the cornucopia. Peeta gets a mean looking shotgun or high-caliber rifle contraption with several round magazine. Katniss tells him it’s useless.

Why?

You have to pull the trigger on it six months before it goes off.

A group bunched up down by the lake got culled:

“Some tried to hide behind lawyers, but those were holograms. The spears went right through.”

If you like parody, this is great. Especially if you read the trilogy and, oh, say, you happen to be blogging about flawed culture of TBTF banks, win-at-any-cost trading desks, and bitcoins.

Initial reaction from a lot of people in the comments is anger and irritation. Remember, this is a parody. It’s a joke.

Laugh! Enjoy!

P.S. This might actually be satire instead of parody, in which case there might be some legal exposure for the team that made the video. I’ve discussed the distinction at my post Parody versus satire – one is okay and the other can get you in trouble. Gangnam Style video as a teaching tool.
